About the event

In recognition of Men’s Mental Health Month, this elevated reception creates space for Black men—particularly professionals across the DMV—to remove the pressure of performance, engage authentically, and explore what it truly means to prioritize mental health in environments that often demand silence, strength, and self-sacrifice.
Overview
Unmasking the Man is a thoughtfully curated reception designed to foster honest dialogue, meaningful connection, and practical healing among Black men. This experience centers the reality that many Black men navigate personal and professional spaces while carrying unspoken burdens—often without the opportunity or environment to process them openly.
Through a grounded and candid fireside-style conversation, a mental health practitioner, health policy expert, and licensed therapist will share practical, real-world strategies to help attendees manage stress, navigate expectations, and sustain their mental and emotional well-being. This is not a performative space—it is an intentional one. A space to listen, reflect, engage, and leave better equipped.
